Pastoral Care
Pastoral Care is an important part of our ministry, offering compassionate support to those experiencing life’s joys and challenges. Whether you are facing illness, grief, uncertainty, loneliness, or simply need someone to listen and pray with you, pastoral care provides a caring presence grounded in faith and understanding. We believe no one should walk through difficult seasons alone, and we are committed to sharing Christ’s love through attentive listening, prayer, and encouragement.

Social Initiatives and Partnerships
Supporting both local community and organizations across Canada is a major part of our mission as a church. Below are listed a few of those endeavors.
Mission & Service
From sharing food with those in need, to visiting a lonely neighbour, to financially supporting those in need in our local communities and around the world, the people of the United Church are committed to turning compassion into action.
UCW – United Church Women
A national organization for women within the United Church of Canada. Their mission is to love God, foster Christian commitment, faithfulness and spirituality and promote respect and love for all God’s creation.
Meeting monthly, the UCW of Guthrie United Church contributes to their community through fundraising efforts, practical support, and outreach programs like prayer shawls and lap blankets.
Camping Sunday
Camping Sunday is traditionally celebrated on the fourth Sunday in April. The worship service for this Sunday is designed to draw attention to local United Church camps, and help people recall their memories and experiences of church camping.
On Camping Sunday all donations and offerings from Central Lanark Pastoral Charge go to support Camp Lau-Ren.
